Hi, I saw some at Costco in Seoul, but I was wondering if there is an actual store that offers a selection of the different protein powders?

tokkaebi import mart at namdaemun market has a little black market section that caters to the nutrition/weightlifting crowd. you can buy 5 pounds of myopro whey for 45,000 there.

it's a little bit hard to find. go to hoehyon station. take the namdaemun market exit. go up to the main road and turn left. i think you enter gate 6 of the market area. the tokkaebi mart is about a block in, but it's a little bit hidden.

go into the basement and you'll probably have to wade through this area that sells tacky ajumma clothes. you'll go into a more barn-like area and that's the place that sells western food/toiletries. it's small so you will find the dudes selling whey powder pretty quick. they have all major brands and it's about 1/4 the price of GHC in apkujeong.

I've also found that Namdaemun Market is the most affordable place to buy it...if you can find the table where the guy is selling it. You can also find it in the black market stores in Songtan.

If you're looking for an actual store that sells high quality whey protein along with other supplements such as creatine, there is a little store right around the corner from where I live. It's pricey, but you'll be able to find what you need. A 6.6 lb tub costs 130,000 Won. Two bottles of creatine will run you 40,000 Won.

It's across from Miral Church in Topyung-Dong, Guri City. It's about a 20-minute bus ride from the Gwangnaru Subway Station in Seoul. Take the 9-5 bus from outside the station and it will drop you off right in front of the store.

You can buy it at Smoothie King too, for about 120,000-130,000.

Namdaemun is good, but check out www.bodybuilding.com . The shipping is about the same as the price difference, so you don't really pay a premium. Good stuff.

About Namdemun. There's a tourist info box in the middle of the pedestrian street. If you came on the subway and walk out as the sign indicated, to Namdemun market then you turn right and go down the slope along the pedestrian market road. You'll see immediately onto that right turn walk down there's a tourist info booth ahead. A glass windowed booth lowered there into the street.

Just past that, on the right, you'll see an odd, round archway which says 'import goods market' or something like that. And, most odd, a concrete slope going into the depths of the earth at a 50 degree angle. Go down there to the catacombs because that's what it looks like down there. Bumble around and you'll no doubt quickly find the booths, lit by light bulbs dangling on cords from the catacomb ceiling, selling whey powder.

I think this is right next to Exit 1 of the market.

'Sooraemun Suip Sam Ga' with the smiley faces painted on the side right?

Dunno about smiley faces but the start of the stroll down the market road has restaurant tents. Then there are clothes vendors, luggage and bag vendors, a ginseng shop(s) and a pedestrian road intersection. Go left (if you've come down the hill and just passed the tourist info kiosk) and that's towards the electronics/appliance building. Go right and there's the import goods arch and ramp down catacombwards.

Freezerburn you mean ten pounds, not kilos, for 59,000. Cheap anyway.
