I have a US dollar bank account at KB. The branch I deal with doesn't do Canadian dollar bank accounts.

Does anyone know of any banks that do that in Korea?

Better yet, are there any Canadian banks here that if I make an account and dump Canadian money, I can withdraw it in Canada?

I seriously doubt it -- cant imagine there'd be enough demand.

The only Canadian bank I've heard of with a presence in Korea is Scotiabamk, but I think they primarily offer corporate services. Maybe someone there could answer your questions.

I have a Canadian funds account with HSBC in Seoul. Contact them and you can set up an account quite easily.

KEB will offer you an account in Canadian funds as well, but Honk Kong bank is more convenient since they have branches in all major cities in Canada (if you intend on accessing your account in Canada, that is)

I've got one at . The only problem I encountered was when withdrawing the money. You have to either go to the main branch or you have to make a request to your branch a few days in advance so they can order the money from the main branch (which at they don't seem to know at my branch).

Every branch of KEB should offer a Canadian dollar account. You are just buying Canadian dollars for deposit right? It's all electronic so it should be no problem. They probably have never done it before and are afraid to try.

I'm in the process of getting HSBC accounts set up here and in Canada for easy transfers...hopefully I'll be able to make my transfers from home on the internet, it can be done apparently.

Cheers.

HSBC is awsome because it offeres international accounts. That means only one bank account for all your dealings.

God, I really gotta get a new eye prescription.

Thought the thread title said something about a Canadian Funk Band.

Here is a question about their bank:

I don't live in Seoul, so are there ways to just transfer money from a Korean (won) account into a Canadian dollar account?

I guess I will contact them and see what they say.

I am not sure how it works here but when I was in Canada I just had my parents setup an extra international account I just dump money in there when I need too. No transfer fees.
