| Koreans are the masters of politely not noticing anything out of the ordinary. I swear to God I've been strolling around Gangnam this morning in full-on "angel" costume, wings halo and all, and less than ten people have even been so gauche as to let me realize they've noticed and smile at me. This society is so strange... as if my wings must be some kind of genetic anomaly and they all assume I'm embarrassed if people notice? |

That is very debatable.

That's got to be because you are in Kangnam. I'm three hours away in the sticks and when I walk down the street here l feel like a monkey with a briefcase. That's just for being foreign. No wings. It stinks.
I used to work in Kangnam and it was fine. I went back for a weekend last month and couldn't believe how many foreigners I saw. People there are getting used to it. Much more than just a few years ago when I started coming to Korea to teach.
Leave Seoul and you turn the clock back years and years. Try those wings down here. |

| Definitely a Kangnam thing. I've been strolling around the school with a set of devil horns and I'm now called "ang ma seon sang nim" |

Well, if you were fat that would be one out of the ordinary thing that they would notice and probably go out of their way to comment on.
If you had a zit on your face, they would probably notice that too and they would be sure to point it out to you.
Maybe angel wings are different, I don't know. But from what I've seen, Koreans have a hard time dealing with things that are out of the ordinary.
Maybe they thought you were a crazy person and felt that you might lose face if they pointed out that you were crazy.
Why were you walking around in an angel costume anyway? I mean, I know it's halloween and all...but an angel costume in a country that doesn't celebrate halloween??? |

| I had women's pantyhose tied round my head on Saturday night in Gangnam. I got plenty of looks and laughs, I can assure you. Very silly behaviour on my part of course, but the pantyhose were originally part of a Halloween costume. |

The police won't do a damn thing and the car pilot person (driver?) would lock the doors and destroy the car's version of a black box. At least that's the protocol in Daegu. |

It would be hilarious if it were a girl's uniform! |

| My former co-workers dressed up as Christ (he really did look like him, too) and Satan. They walked around Pupyong like that, and their friend video-taped it. They handed-out candy to passers-by, as well. That video is priceless. |
