There was a brilliant one where some group of concerned parents in Canada were trying to whip up some anti-homosexual frenzy. Something about the "gay agenda" and its nefarious plan for the school system. They published this report about how the homosexualists were out to indoctrinate their children right in the classroom. They crowed about how carefully researched their report was, although most of it was stuff they googled for and then cut 'n' paste without giving it a second look. They ended up including some "news item" from The Onion about the gay agenda. They were laughed out of the room...

The Onion will reply via headline. What will the headline be? |

This is my favorit line out of the article. Tell me what this sounds like...
Trent Duffy, White House spokesperson:
"When any official sign or seal is being used inappropriately the party is notified," Duffy said.
Sounds a little Kremlin-ish to me... |

Yep, THIS is the most important thing the White House has to worry about. As long as they have their priorities straight. |

yeah, seriously. Worried about the onion? A paper whose readers no doubt are already inclined to think Bush sucks? A paper that isn't exactly widely read, and known to be humerous at that? Pathetic. |

It's about the best publicity the Onion could get. I've been reading it since long before it went online. Good job, White House.

I hate journalists. This is why:

"I would advise them to look for that other guy Osama (bin Laden) ... rather than comedians. I don't think we pose much of a threat," Dikkers said. |
Why the hell do they have to edit people's words like this? How many people in the world wouldn't have figured out which Osama he was referring to? This is why I would never allow myself to be quoted by an American journalist. Lord knows what liberties they'd take to clarify my meaning. |

Might that not just be a question of standard format? If someone referred to Bill Clinton as simply "Bill", but the article made no other mention of Bill Clinton, the reporters would be justified in adding in the surname. And if they do it for one person, consistency dictates that they do it for everyone. |
