| i downloaded a couple movies that i want to split into smaller files, but i can't seem to find a good splitter. can anyone recommend a free video splitter? thanks! |

I don't know much about video, but I had the same problem as you once, and another guy suggested I cut the video using Windows Moviemaker. I was like: What? That cheap-azz free XP add-on?
I'll be damned if it didn't work to import the movie, drop it in the edit area down below, and cut half of the movie out and save, then delete the first part, and paste the second part back in, then save that. Got to watch what format you save in, though. |

| what is the extension of the downloaded movie? If it is .avi, do you know what codec it uses (audio and video if possible)? BigBlack's post will work, but I find windows movie maker to take REALLY long to do things. |

vcdhelp.com is a great site for tools and to learn how to do all sorts of video thingys.
click on tools to find your splitter. |
