PAYMENT: 5 million won per hour.
The travel expenses for visas are covered by the University.
Total teaching hours for 4 weeks are about 80 hours.

So is this posting a little misleading? I was going to apply to it, but does anyone know if it's worth it? I mean (5 MILLION WON for 1 month). Geez!

If you take into consideration that you are expected to be at the workplace from 9-5 each day, it's believable - a little over 30,000won per hour. Don't fool yourself into believing that'll you be getting 62,500 for the 80 hours of teaching. Also look into the housing arrangement as some of those dorms have real screwy rules, like early curfews and whatnot. Having said that, it might be an okay gig for you(cfedora).

I e-mailed them about the error and got this:

Sorry.
It is my mistake.
It is 50000 won per hour.
Thank you

So, 50,000x80=4,000,000

Ahhhhh. I thought the typo may've been that they meant to write per month, not per hour. They tacked on an extra zero or two. Anyway, if you can put up with long days for a month, it's a good chunk of change.

So, 4,000,000won/160 hours to be expected at the workplace = ~ 25,000won per hour, which is pretty std, and believable.

You may want to find out what you are doing, or expected to do, for the other four hours each day. Are those breaks time for yourself and preparation or do you have to eat lunch with the kids and do other organized activities with them that are not considered as part of the teaching component of the camp, but what I would still consider as work.
