Just watched the Hong-man's fight against the little Thai again. Good lord, what a fix. The extra round was as clear as it could be.
I love how they keep showing the Hong-man's fights again and again. I can't wait to see him against Remy. I'll take Remy with one foot tied behind his back. Whaddyathink? |

My sports predictions haven't been very good lately because I hardly spend any time following anything, but - based on my seeing a couple minutes of each of these guys compete - I can see Hong-man winning if Remy makes a mistake when launching one of his incredibly high jumps to land a knee - and gets countered with a bigger knee... |

I didn't see him fight the Thai. What was it like, and why the extra round? |

The extra round was because the decision was too close after three rounds. The Thai couldn't do much to Hongman, but he couldn't do much either and looked very fatigued. If you can't knock out a guy who's literally half your size in four rounds you really have to wonder. |

Apparently, the extra round was to get a little more payola from the fixers. To say that the first three were too close but the extra period wasn't really leaves me wondering. Yes, the extra round was clear, only in the Thai's favor.
I don't know what you mean by "do too much". I certainly don't understand the scoring of the K-1 bouts, but I saw the Thai hit the Hong-man with hands, legs, and feet on just about every part of Hong-man's body (repeatedly) including at least one head-rocking, sweat spraying, overhand haymaker to the face and a stupendous kick to the side of the head which had the Thai literally upside down. The Hong-man did occasionally land a punch or kick, but usually that occurred while holding the Thai. Maybe all those little love pats really added up.
By the way, I am curious to know why the Thai got a yellow card during the match. Is it illegal to run like hell? Or did the referee rule that he intentionally fell to avoid further contact? AND is it legal to grab and hold with two hands behind the neck? Seems to be a gray area.
The Hong-man better drink a lot of coffee before the match with Remy. He was too slow for the Thai. Remy can be equally quick and packs a lot more punch per pound. Actually, I would rather see the Hong-man win enough to see him go against Le Bonner or the big Russian. |

When I say not doing much I mean not doing much to affect Hongman except tiring him out.
Like others, I didn't quite see why round four was a win while the others amounted to a draw.
If he gets past Remy he's got either Ray Safo or the Lumberjack. I wonder what odds Vagas is giving him? |

We'll find out on 19 November.
This past weekend they had some K1 fights in Seoul. I wish I'd known beforehand. Bob Sapp fought (and won). I still think he was robbed when he fought Choi, so I really have my fingers crossed for Remy. |
