heres the story.

I was at the goose goose last night and some girl offers me her cat. in itself not an offensive gesture. what offends me is that she offered me her cat. What the hell? Why is this gal offering me an animal? I imagine when you take on an animal that you have some sort of weird life oath to take care of it, not some oath to mind it until your contract expires. Screw you, mean people who seem to take pet oaths lightly. this happens to be an animal that needs your help. My dog, Al, has been with me three years or so, and by my estimation, is my heterosexual life mate. No way me and Al part. Never. Maybe it is some sort of weird coincidence, but both girls who offered me their cats, in a somber and emotional way, were tattooed and bone nosed canadian girls......weird. If i werent allergic to cats, i probably would have taken them.......Al is cool with anyone, just like me........he told me so. but anyways, my question is, do you have a problem with my condemning you to hell if you abandon an animal here? Seriously, screw you bone nosed mean animal people. Get a cat, keep the cat. period. Al agrees.

I totally agree with the OP. I also hang around the Goose. (although
that isn't important here) I had a cat for 18 years. I took care of
her regardless of my situation and location. If you adopt an animal
you should accept the responsibility. I think is absolutely disgusting
that people take animals into their homes as if they were stuffed
toys to be discarded at the slightest change of situation. I wasn't
at the Goose this week. (It is focking crap compared to Seoul
anyway) But if I had been and those two girls had asked me I would
have given them an earful.

So, your dog talks to you? Are you sure he isn't 2000 years old and is named Harvey?

Hey, better that the girls are trying to find a good home for their cat than just leaving the little guys out on the street when their contracts are up.

There's a lot involved with shipping an animal home, I understand. Quarantines, paperwork, etc. etc.

Perhaps they rescued the cats from the street and took care of them while they could...there's no shame in that. Kind of like an informal foster care system...don't knock the girls for trying to find a good home to a cat that would otherwise be on the street.

An aside: domestic animals are not like children. They can fend for themselves perfectly well on the streets. They do not require stable and loving households to ensure their proper physical or psychological development, as children do. They are able to meet their own needs by themselves.

Damn, I thought "cat" was a euphemism for something, ahem, else. I was hoping for a really juicy story, but no, it really WAS about a cat. Crying or Very sad

A dog named Al and a boy named Sue.......

Uhm...just exactly what sort of place is this "goose goose" where random and tattooed Canadian girls offer up their pets to people?
