I'm sure you've seen the dirty looks here while walking with your girlfriend/boyfriend from time to time. My experience has been that this is rare and I've been fortunate to never have any incident where we have been confronted by an angry druken adjosshi.
I once read that you would probably find more opposition to interracial realtionships in Korea town LA or NY than you would here in Korea. I don't kow how accurate that is but I've read quite a bit of opposition to interracial realtionships from American Asian website.
Case in point:

By and large, when Asian Americans criticize AF-WM pairings, it is not a matter of being possessive and controlling. It is because the AF-WM phenomenon supports an oppressive system that places white men above Asian men. If we lived in a perfect world where no one group had power over another, no one would have the right to criticize another's dating choice.

I can *almost* forgive an Asian male for feelings of jealous or inadequacy when they see a White male with an Asian woman, but coming from a woman this is nothing but pure racist claptrap.

Those Asian men indeed do not own those Asian women, and neither does she! She has no more rights of ownership just because she's a woman yourself.

And presumably Asian men have never used Asian women (or otherwise) in the same way? I think this lady should do her research a little bit into the endemic Asian sex trafficking industry that is taking place *today*.

She made this up. I'd love to see a source. Yes, prostution around military bases flourished during wartime, but an Asian woman selling herself, or more likely being pimped by an Asian man, is not the same as being "raped as part of Standard Operating Procedure".

Exactly why? Does someone hold a gun to these Asian women's head and force them to date white men?

Again, she doesn't own anyone, and she can't speak for anyone else but herself. If she doesn't want to date a white man, that's fine, they probably don't want to date her either, but she still has no rights imposing her morality and choice on others. |

I know what you mean. Apparantly all the room salons in Korea are run for us evil whities. And all those Russian girls were brought over for our satisfaction as well. |

| To make some sweeping generalisations (when in Rome...) in my hometown the most insular people were always Chinese women. They'd glare down any other Asian girl who showed any signs of bananitude. |

| I have an old friend... er, I had an old friend, a phillipine-american girl from LA who writes or at least blogs this kind of thing all the time. The funny twist... she's married to a white guy. I think these people (radical feminist liberal nazis, or whatever they're called these days) see life as a sort of debating club, where the only thing that matters is "scoring points", so they'll go out on limbs of logic and say the most insulting things, without expecting anybody to take it personally. If your feelings are hurt and you make a personal, emotional reply, they disdain you for breaking the rules, and claim to have "won" the argument. That's basically how this 10-year friendship ended. |
