I chew on my nails. Or the skin around my nails. Have for years. My friend bought me some stuff you put on the areas you chew so that you don't bite them. It tastes really bad. More specifically, it tastes like a combination of super-condensed earwax flavor and that dry alum-like taste you get in your mouth if you eat the wrong part of a banana. Nasty. But it works. Too good. I was eating french fries at McDonalds, and some of it got on the fries. Ruined my whole meal. YUCK!
But I haven't bitten my nails for 2 days now. |

I started getting manicures a couple of years ago. Before that, I was always biting my nails. It didn't help that they were always peeling and stuff, but the manicures not only improved my nails' condition, they helped stop my biting.... Actually, my manicurist said that one should always have at least some kind of nail varnish on (even if just clear) to protect your nails. I recommend this to males as well. |

Where'd you find that stuff?
There is a person I spend a lot of time around.. and they have an extremely bad habit of biting their nails.. outside of biting they also like to pick at their nails with their other nails - do you have that habit as well? How can I get someone to stop that one? |

Tiger, I'm not sure where she got it, but I think it was a counter in Lotte Dept Store. If you ask around, I'm sure you'll find it. Ask that manicure place in Itaewon. The bottle isn't much help. It says, STOP on it. The box had the name of the stuff, but I don't have a box. I know there was a stuff called, 'No-Bite' which was basically the same thing back home.
Just use a bit, though. I'm tasting it on the hamburger I had for lunch. Yuck.
Yes, I chew on the skin around my nails. Especially soon after I cut them. It's like a snack, and I stop/move on to a new finger when it hurts too much to keep chewing. Gross, I know. |

many nail polish removers have that chemical in it too. They're available everywhere and cost about 1000W/ bottle |

This ain't your mama's nail polish remover.
The name is Mavala Stop.
It is made in Switzerland. It says it can be used by itself, or over nail polish. |

Nail biting is the way I valve stress. I figure it's better than smoking or drinking. |
