I'm looking for a good music/sound editing program (Cubase, ProTools, etc.) and heard Yongsan sells bootleg versions.....

do any of you think this is a bad idea because of quality/safety reasons? Are there any risks i should know of?

the $$ difference is so huge i'd be willing to sacrifice a little quality (it's just a hobby)....

if you want something free, Audacity is a really good editor, though there are still some things to be worked out. But it is a good editor. By the way, what kind of stuff are you working on? if you don't mind me asking...

.... uhhm.... sorry to bother u again, but, which would you recommend as the best to download? some take up a lot more memory than others....

as you can see, it's reeeally just a hobby right now.... im gonna mix some tracks to emcee over. in the past i used other peoples' beats, but im lookin for a project now.

depends on what you are producing?

I do electronic stuff, house etc..

I like using cubase with my pc... the automation is your friend. You can also get awesome plugins... Native Instruments I love for example.

Very powerful tool. perhaps a little daunting at first, especially if you are a beginner. Recommended.

Can't tell you about the reliabilty about cracked versions, as mine is paid for.

If you are into this style of music, then maybe you could try Reason - also very popular. I don't really use it much but i am able to stick it through cubase too if i fancy using its good bits.

if you are only mixing beats, and you already have them in stereo format, then Audacity will help you mix them. If you want to use midi to make your own beats, you will need something like Cubase.
