I've just discovered for the first time Seu Jorge. He's the Brazilian artist who can be seen singing covers of old Bowie songs in Portugese in The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. Any one else a fan?
Those songs were the best part of that movie.
Check out the album The cosmic Game by the Thievery Corporation- there's no Jorge (wouldn't that be his first name?) but there are collaborations with Brazilian and Latin artists- Verny Varela, Patrick dos Santos and Gigi Rezende, very much in the same Latin American guitar-folk vein (not to mention collaborations with Flaming Lips, Perry Ferrell, and David Byrne).
