I'll just add on to the growing number of threads like this...
Not saying I'm sticking around Korea when I finish my contract at the end of the year, but if I do decide to come back after bumming around I'm thinking Busan may be a nice change of pace from Seoul and it's satellites.
Anyone got some info? |

Yeah. Busan's nice. Expect lower rent and slightly less salary (give or take)... Not much to do here. I definately miss the black-market stores of Itaewon and the club nights of Hongdae. But there's a few decent foreign-frequented bars here... and the weather's a bit better. Though the subway can get damn crowded during rush hour, though a bit better than Line 1 or 2 in Seoul. |

Oh yeah and less foreigners and less hogwans, so expect to be a skilled negotiator and not get your promised holidays. During my last contract, I had 1 holiday and 1 sick day... thank god one of the other teachers was happy for the overtime and the adult students weren't too pissed... And expect to look a bit harder for the work, since hogwans aren't as numerous here... |
