To live in one area, and work in another?
How does this tend to work out in Seoul?
Right now, I have two decent offers..one in Incheon, and one in Bundang.
Both jobs offer "Housing allowances." The one in Incheon is a great deal..its 2.1 per month plus 4k for housing.
I'd like a decent house in the Itaewon area. However, this would mean my commute would be almost 1.5 hrs each way..ouch! But, I really have no desire to live out there in Incheon.
What would you do if you were me?
Is there anywhere nearby Incheon with better bus/subway access?
The school I'm looking at is a 20 min bus ride away from the nearest subway stop, which I think is Bakchon.
Thanx!! |

Don't take a job in Incheon unless you either near a subway station or bus station.
There are some great jobs in Incheon, but for the sake of your sanity you'll need an easy escape route on the weekends. |

No, it's not feasable to live in Itaewon and commute to Incheon everyday. Bundang maybe. |

I agree with Jackthecat,
I learned the hard way about not living near a subway station in Incheon. It takes me 1.5hours to reach Seoul by a combination of bus/subway. It's a right royal pain in the a.rse but I still do it every weekend. Ask me why and I'll respond by saying that Incheon is the a.nal hole of Korea |
