Its easy.. get a friend to write out a few things you want.. (how many rooms, key money max or min, essentially the basics of what you are looking for).
From there just go to a PU-DONG-SAN (real estate agent).. they'll just start showing you around to everywhere you can imagine that fits into your description.
Its also helpful to have someone on-hand to call for translations if you actually really like a place - and want to know more details.
I've done this exact thing with around 10-15 pu-dong-san places in my area.. and didn't have a problem with it - and the pu-dong-san people are more than happy to have your potential business. |

Best way is to just look around the exact neighborhoods you like.. once there, you'll see tons of signs that say:
(unsure about spelling of that second syllable - dong). Means 'real estate agent' in English. Those people just register all the potential available apartments in the immediate area as well as get a commission for finding a potential tenant - they will definetely help you out!
Anyhow.. just find the area you like.. go into one of those office.. and they'll immediately start showing you around.. some of those guys even know English.. even in the most obscure of places. |

You could try this guy (Aurthur), we got our apartment in Itaewon through him--you can browse his website, it's in English:

If at all possible I'd go with a korean to try and avoid getting ripped off. |
