Hey Guys,

I'm wondering where/if jobs in the central area of Seoul are advertised? I see tons of adverts for jobs in Incheon, Bundang, and various other places over an hour from Seoul Station area. (Which isn't where I wanna be, just a reference point.)

Any advice??

everyone wants to live in Seoul, so there's an excess of teachers available. You may have trouble wedging yourself in. The outside towns do a lot of the advertising because they can't convince anyone to come to Bosintong, Cholla Do. Pop. 3000.

Basically, if you do decide to work with a recruiter (and that's who usually posts the jobs), tell them it's central Seoul or nothing. Get a map to double check on the locations they tell you about. And feel free to work with more than one of them... assuming you do want to go down that road.

But let me tell you, public transportation in Seoul is great. So anywhere in the city itself is fine.

Hey,

Thanx for the reply.
I'm actually IN Seoul right now, so I know how great the public transport is.
Still, the jobs I've been interviewing for are REALLY out of the way.
I went for an interview yesterday (the asked me if I wanted to work for them the same day, which is a bit worrying) for a job that is located in a school located a 20 minute busride away from the nearest subway station. Furthermore, it's in Incheon. Ouch.

Also, you say "if" I want to use a recruiter. What if I don't..how do I go about finding jobs without the help of a recruiter? Just go door to door?
I'm staying with a friend now, but my money and my welcome will surely run short after a couple of weeks, so I can't wait TOO long for that perfect job.

Any ideas would be sweet.

If you want a position with ECC go to YBM Jungno and find the guy who does the hiring. It used to be a Kyopo Danny Kim but dont know now. YBM never uses a recruiter.
