if my post gets deleted....but i tried going to the travel forum but no one answered me.

quick Q. Am going to Phuket and just want beautiful beach, sans trannies, ladyboys, and the like. Just nice quiet atmosphere, good food...and beach...jungle...(no temples or villages or whatever). Any recommendations?

Also, heard nice things about Langkawi...is it worth taking the ferry over on our way to Singapore for NYE or should we just stay in Thailand?

I have about 12 days if you discount travel time.

dear lord have mercy...

i am going to thailand and i DO NOT want to be surrounded by anything that sells sex...i want to find the nicest prettiest off the beaten path beach around phuket or krabi or around there...low tide and clean sand would be nice. Langkawi is also an option.

does anyone have any advice? if you understand what sans means and have been to thailand before, PM me.

Yea, Prang Na and then out to Railay beach via ferry boat. Don't stay on the beach but go to Yala's or Yaga's or some such on the other side of the island. No trannies, no lady boys.

I would suggest u vist Koh Samui.. its not near phuket , but its a great place if you want beautiful beaches, peace and quiet and yet at the same time some good night life..

Koh Samet near Ban Phe was nice. Small Island with a range of bungalows and rooms. About four hours south of Bangkok by bus, two-ish by taxi, probably about 40 - 50 bucks.

You can take ferries over or take a speed boat. Didn't notice any lady boys, etc., and nobody mentioned any. Some really nice beaches and not very busy.

If you want to avoid the sex scene in Thailand, don't come to Thailand.

By the sounds of what you want, Malaysia, or Guam, or another territory of a developed nation, would probably be more your cup of tea.

Well, I disagree with bosintang just a little bit. The sex scene in Thailand is not so overly blatent, at least not where I've been.

I've been to Thailand twice and have never been bothered by any sex selling sort of people. The only thing I noticed was in Bangkok, a lot of older guys with young, Thai women, but even then, nothing too disgusting, just people going out for dinner. I really don't think tons of people get hassled on the beaches by ladyboys or trannies or whatever. It's not like there's just 100 prostitutes combing every beach in Thailand looking for a catch.

I think Koh Samui would be great for a nice beach, a little out of the way (so not thousands of people), and very relaxing. Just a skip away is Koh Pagnhan, and I spent a few days on a beach on it's NE coast that was incredible. Absolutely fantastic view, beautiful beach, good food, cheap bungalows, etc.
