Hello, I was wondering if anyone out there knows anything about a reputedly large chain called Reading Town Schools? I've heard positive things about them from people here in Canada, but I can't find anything on the net and I'm wondering if they've changed their name from something else. I'm going to try to get in touch with people who are teaching their now through the recruiter, but until then, can anyone help?

-I know a little bit about that one in HongDae. I don't know if they're still there. The owner of that branch (he also owns the one in Eungnam) doesn't really respect his employess but you don't have to deal with him much. It's principally an entertainment facility and my supervisor wouldn't even consider interviewing a black man.
That being said, the pay was above average and Hongdae's a fantastic area. The apt. was also pretty good and the place was remarkably organized. If you don't care about having an impact in terms of teaching English and just want good job conditions, the HongDae one (if it's still there) probably isn't a bad choice. Just don't work there without a visa. All kinds of people there get fired very early on.

I know there was one across the street from my old school in Koowi-dong. I don't know what it was like to work there, but I know I had some students who told me one of the teachers there was "scary". I think he wasn't afraid to smack the students. Believe me -- we had some primadonnas in that area that I wanted to smack around!

Hmmm. I think I have an interview at that one (Guri ---15 minutes from Walker Hill) tomorrow. On paper it looks OK, which of course means nothing. Any other knowledge? I'm supposed to meet the manager at 1:00.
