Greetings all,

I am looking for a starting place to try and take grasp of my "future"... sounds like some cheezy line to the start of an audio book or seminar.

I have a pile of questions.

1) What is a good solid financial goal to return back to Canada with to start a life as a professional in a stable field?(ie, no debt, XXXXX$, investments?) Not overkill, but get out of the rental market, stay reasonably debt free while getting set up......this could be totally arbitrary....

2) I am a Canadian Citizen with lets say some excess US currency kicking around. WIth the US currency so weak, and the Canadian $ so strong, I dont want to convert it. I dont need it right now, so wouldnt it make sense to sink it into something that keeps it as US currency, but still has abiltiy to make moderate returns....keep in mind,I could be talking out of my Arse....

3) Investments, I addressed my US currency problem, would it make sense to invest in more US currency, considering Can vs Won is so terrible right now. I probably wouldnt be returning to Canada for another 8 months.....

4) Finanacial books? Ive become somewhat of a bookworm of late, and wouldnt mind picking up some basic financial books to get my bearings.

if you have any ideas for any or all of these ramblings feel free to donate your 2 bits.....

Cheers

Check out this thread, it will answer some of your questions.

Books - I would recommend reading books written by Peter Lynch or William O'Neil. Rich Dad Poor Dad is a good start. You find these all in Korea and they're inexpensive.
