Lets hope something positive can come from this.

I'd heard rumours that some african women had effectively become immune from catching the virus, but this is a truly remarkable story. |

I think miracles can happen. But in this case I'd say the initial test was faulty, he was wrongfully diagnosed to begin with. The hospital concerned said that their procedures were fine, because he was suing them.
In Zimbabwe we say that Africans can survive anything. I've seen a man walking around quietly with an axe stuck in the centre of his head. It wouldn't surprise me if blacks are the first to develop immunity to aids. |

Funny, first it says this:
Quote: |
"This is a rare and complex case. When we became aware of Mr Stimpson's HIV negative test results we offered him further tests to help us investigate and find an explanation for the different results.
"So far Mr Stimpson has declined this offer. It is therefore difficult for us to comment any further."
A trust spokeswoman added: "We urge him, for the sake of himself and the HIV community, to come in and get tested. |
Then further down it says this:
Quote: |
He has told the papers he would do anything he could to help find a cure. |
If this is true I'd say he owes it to the world to go and undergo tests to see if they can find a cure. Why would he even hesitate?
I just listened to the interview. Why does the BBC always sound like children's TV these days? They use the kind of tone you might use if you were going to say 'And now boys and girls we're going to read you a story.'
Maybe that's why when they say it might be a good idea to look at Mr Stimpson to see if they can develop a vaccine, I feel like going 'No shit?'. |
