Hi guys,
Next weekend I'm getting a new PC, with approximately a budget of 1,000,000 won.
Now this is the spec i want:
3gig processor
1gig ram
80gig HD
DVD rom
Onboard sound
15" monitor (TFT/LCD)
Standard case/mouse/speakers
Illegal copy of winxp
Best Gfx card I can get with the remaining cash.
Now I'm rubbish at Korean websites but I found a pc on Danawa which looks alot like my desired set up...
AMD 3200+
1GB TwinMOS 512mb DDR400 PC3200
DVD Rom
160gig HD
FX6600 PCI-X (no mention of mem)
17" LCD
939,000won

The 2.0gig surrounded by korean has me a bit worried tho.
So is that a good deal? Or could I get something better? I'm not good at building stuff really but I have a couple of mates who arent adverse to computer upgrades.
What could I get for the same money if it was a homebrew pc? |

Go for one of the AMD dual-cores. The 3800 will do nicely. Games will start coming out dual-core with dual-core capability in the next year, I read.
Personally, my next computer, I will pick the components and have the shop build it. Heck, they charge like 20,000 won total, or nothing, to put it together in like an hour anyway. Unless you want to experiment and enjoy it yourself, there is no reason to bother. |

Then that begs the question- why bother getting that now? Why not wait a year? Prices are sure to fall and more bugs are sure to be shaken out. Bleeding edge is great if you're an ubergeek, but it's not really where most people need or even want to be. |

Check out the Buy/Sell/Trade forum. There's an AMD64 for sale that mets your criteria that would be as good as if not better than the one you're looking at (assuming the guy posted the correct stats), plus you won't have to build it or change anything from Korean.
