Yeah, the operator always types "How can I help you?" way faster than I can type my name in the box I really like that function, and the operator is always very helpful. |

There are no bookstores on top of hooker hill and there are no bookstores near the mosque.
Walk straight from exit three of Itaewon station. The first light you are going to make a right. There is a clothing store named Discovery on that corner (and sometimes at a night a Spiderman playing the guitar). You are going to walk up that road for about 75 meters passing King Club then Foreign Discount Food Market. Both of those are on the left hand side of the road as well as my store. Be sure to get your head out of your butt and look for a rather large sign that says "Bookstore". People say the map that I made sucks, but I think it is pretty good http://www.whatthebook.com/visit.html .
Take the number with you and if you get lost on the way call for help. |

I've been to all the bookstores in the Itaewon area and Chiaa is definitely the most knowledgable, helpful and professional of the bunch.
Seemingly can order just about any book in existence.
Impressive customer service also. Last time I was there there was a fridge full of free beers for customers. Granted it was just a once off thing but definitely a nice touch.
I'm not butt kissing or anything but he's a good guy and absolutely deserves the business. |

I've been to most (maybe all?) and found them all to be good, but for slightly different things. The Foreign Bookstore is good for cheap 'airport' books - the John Grishams, Tom Clancys, Laurie Kings, Ruth Rendells and the like. They also have tons and tonnes of used ESL books.
Abby's is good for more scholarly/literary, possibly out of print works (think old library) with a few new titles and Grishams thrown in.
What the Book is good for newer used books (bestsellers but not necessarily keepers) and new books. The online option is really great for those of us that don't live anywhere near Seoul. |
