I worked at a 2020 hagwon for two years. There is some connection between 2020 and Jehovah's Witness church in korea. A lot of the branches have wonjonims and staff who are members of this church. That was the impression I got. The franchise newsletter indicates this, as well. You ask about 'Jeremiah'. A biblical name. Enjoyed the branch I worked at. Just because the wonjonim was religious didn't mean he was a saint, though. There was the usual sharp Korean business moves and less than scrupulous antics. I liked those illustrations in the Watchtower/Awake magazines of average folks smiling in a sunlit valley of tame tigers, fruit trees, and waterfalls. But it wasn't my experience working there. Oops, missed something.

I've met a number of folks over the years who have worked at an English 20/20 school and the stories run the gamut from great to downright ugly. Definitely a case of finding out more about the particular branch you're considering working at.
