That's right, you heard correctly. I want to give KUDOS to Kim n Joe (especially Amy). Maybe some of you remember me posting last weekend asking about Winners Language Institute in Pohang? Well, I've been having difficulty hearing back from the current teacher there, I have been waiting for days and the school also has been waiting on my decision.
Well, I have just received an email from Amy saying something rather bad has happened. The teacher didn't show up for work so the director went to their apt, they've taken off for some reason. She said they have parted on good terms (though he finished the contract early) but was supposed to stay until the new teacher was hired.
Okay, for this reason (and also the fact I would be the only FT there) I have declined the position. However, I want to give many many thanks for Amy for being VERY honest and telling me of the situation, and indeed even the school for being honest. But I don't want to take any risks. I hope I've done the right thing, now it's going to be hard to find another position so quickly (being Aussie and all)  |
