I'm getting ready to set up a proper home gym, free weights mainly, squat rack, benches, etc. Has anyone done this here and have advice, such as stores to go to/avoid? Furthermore, if anyone has dusty equipment lying around, I'd be willing to buy it from you- even cardio stuff.

uh, no thanks. I've read so much about that guys stuff that I just giggle when I hear his name. I'm sorry but he's a bit goofy. I really want a top quality home gym as lifting weights is my stress reliever and I'm tired of Korean Jiggle machines and blaring pop music. I want to build a shrine to iron and steel <Tim Allan grunt>.
Sorry I made fun of Matt Furey, but... come on, he named himself Matt Fury and uses every crazy scheme ever invented- "double your flexabillity IN ONE NIGHT!!!!", "Forbidden exercises to get stronger", "Combat Conditioning!!!".

I know that Matt Furey sells with hype. That turned me off to him too at first. My advice is not to knock him before you try his workouts. Many people do this and then try his exercises and realize how incredibly right Matt Furey is and how wrong they were. How much is your bench press? Is it 250, 300, 350? (pounds) Here is a test of strength for you. Right now after you read this get down on the floor and do some one arm push ups. One hand shoulder width apart, the other hand behind your back, legs spread a little wide for balance, now go down and touch your nose to your hand, repeat. How many could you do? Most people who are "strong" on the bench can't do hardly any or no one arm push ups. Hmm...you can bench 300 pounds but you can't do one one-arm push up? After leg strength? Try one legged squats!

The "forbidden exercise" that Furey is talking about is called the "back bridge". It is forbidden because so many people are afraid to do it. And don't know how to do it properly. People who go to the gym and do "back" exercises can't even hold a back bridge for five seconds. I know that was me. When I first tried it I couldn't hold it for two seconds. Now I'm up to six minutes. And guess what...you can keep the weights buddy!!! My back and neck have never been stronger. Furey calls it the king of all exercises.

All I'm saying is if someone thinks that they are strong and fit then Furey's exercises should be easy. Right? Hmm....

How many pushups can you do on your fingertips?
How many hand stand pushups can you do?
etc...

I suppose, but again weight lifting is my stress release, not a means to an end.

PS Bench 330
One armed pushups 20
Back bridge 2:20
Dead lift 420

I can jump rope for more than 10 minutes at a go.

But that's with stopping occasionally when I trip up.

Id kill to have the space to be able to set up a home gym over here...Korean gyms drive me mad..

Sadly i have little option...and the chances of finding a decent little hold in the wall, basic weights gym over here is nil..

I set one up for a couple of hundred won. Doorway chin-up bar, 350lbs of plates, oly bar, bench and squat rack all used from a dealer up on line 3 towards Ilsan. Unfortunately, I forgot which stop it was but the point is to go through a used shop, which a Korean friend might dig up for you on line. Keep up the excellent lifts.
