Pakistani Embassy in Seoul, Korea (South)
Embassy of Pakistan in Seoul, Korea (Republic)
258-13 Itawon 2 Dong, Yongsan-Ku Seoul
140-202 Korea
Korea (Republic)

Phone: 82-2-796-8252

I tried to log onto their website but it's still under construction. This is unfortunate as i've put together 4 bags of USED CLOTHES inc. socks, shirts, sweaters, pants, gloves, ear muffs, hats etc.

Y'know, it's funny too: once i started going through my things it was amazing how quickly i saw how the needs of others greatly outweighed my own. As with Katrina, many of these poor souls have lost absolutely everything, including in many cases their entire families.

There's approximately 3.5 million in this region currently homeless. A lot more are going to die as the temperature drops over the next 4-5 weeks.

If we act now something can be done here!

El President-ay Musharaf has apparently given his personal assurance that any donations dropped off at Pakistan's Embassies will be forwarded to victims of this devastating disaster. Idea

Talk to your friends & family about this. Try to stress to them the urgency of the situation. Spread the word, talk to your friends & fire off a few emails.

As it is i'm calling the Embassy here in South Korea tomorrow

Hey, thanks for the support Harpeau!

Yes, i dropped by the Embassy the other day with 6 BAGS of clothes the wife & had gathered up. We also included a roll of T-Paper in each little goodie package Wink

Winter is rapidly setting in & countless lives remain in jeopardy. We CAN make a difference. Every little bit helps !!!

Ok ...

Just got word from a friend there's going to be a gathering sponsored by Seoul Artists' Network Sunday Night at the Woodstock Bar in Itaewon starting at 8 P.M. If you've never been there it's apparently just a few minutes walking distance from the subway.

All are said to be welcome. Bring all your USED CLOTHES, along with whatever spare medicine etc. you can muster. If you yourself can't make it, simply take a few moments to inform your friends.

Along with misc. music & poetry readings, a rep. from the Pakistani Embassy is also supposed to be attending.

Regardless of what you have to offer, bear in mind even the smallest gestures of charity stand to provide comfort & help to ease the suffering of others.

Spread the word !!!

I don't have that much stuff to donate, but I reckon I really don't need five sweaters to survive the Korean winter... Despite propaganda to the contrary, not all Moslems are bad. My (Armenian Christian) grandmother, who lost three of her kids to starvation during the genocide by Ottoman Turks, was saved by a sympathetic Moslem family who risked their lives to shelter her and her two surviving children...

Important for you to have this emphasized RTeacher. Generally absurd to claim all of ANY ethnic or religious group are dangerous fanatics, or what have you.

Did you make it to the clothes drive? Anyone else?

I'd like to know how it went.
