Shows all of the plans for expansion in the coming years. Incredible!
Oido to Incheon!
East Ansan to Suwon!
Up to the TDC in the north! Even further south than Cheonan!
Sorry .. I'm excited! |

I HOPE MORE LIKE IT.. or put in a subway line from ori over to suji! I mean just build 2 or 3 stops.. thats enough!! PPLLLEEAAASSEEEEE!! get these ajumas off the streets!!!! |

There's a ton of stops on that red line that aren't even named yet, so it's hard to tell where that'll take us.
I'd been wanting to see a map like this, though. They've had that road through Banpo - near the Express Terminal - torn up for the last several years and completion isn't expected until about 2009, I think.
Thanks for posting that. |

Anyone else notice that the new and widened highway going from Seoul to Pangyo and on to Osan still takes as long, and sometimes almost longer, than it used to before they fixed it? There is a now a nice little delay/bottleneck caused by the exit coming out of Kangnam/Apkujeong or somewhere. That is the fly in the ointment, but after that, it gets normal.
Nothing like adding a problem to fix a problem (or incredibly fast population growth!) |

Yeah I hate Suji traffic. I used to commute through it to and from Suwon regularly from Bundang, and it's brutal there. And I don't know why they don't build more freeway exits in general here. It defeats the purpose of an expressway because the gaps are so big between stops, so you can't really get where you need to go. Pangyo is a disaster during rush hour.
There's some good additions coming on that map, like the northwest-southeast line, but it always seems like these projects finish long after I actually would be using them.
They're building a subway line out to Chuncheon and extending line 1 practically to Asan. |

They should just underground the whole country. It'll make life so much easier for the North to infiltrate.
Sorry.. just trolling. hahhaha.. |

| They're building one here in Bucheon that is supposed to be finished in 2010. It's pretty interesting watching the construction. They use a huge auger to drill into the ground and then drop down a pipe and fill it with concrete. |

It's just a great big overpass, isn't it?
It crosses the subway extension at suwon city hall so I don't know if that causes issues. |

| What, if anything, does it mean that most of the expansion seems ot be in the Korail part of the system? I have found their existing lines to be slower. |

Considering this is the system in the place I grew up in:
I'm quite happy with the rate of expansion here. In Calgary the NW side was extended by *one* station some 13 years after the last one, and they'll build one more in three more years. Yay. Nothing like ticket machines that can't be arsed to give you change either. Ticket is $1.85, you put in $2, and the machine's like "What, you still standing around here? Change? What a quaint notion. Um, no. You got your ticket now get in the train it's f**kng -35 you retard."
Yes, oh noble C-Train machine sir. Thank you for coming every 15 minutes.
And don't get me started on last winter when I was visiting and the train that pulled up just forgot to activate the door buttons on one of the cars. Whoops. Have another fun 15 minutes in the -20. Ta! |

| They still need a subway line that runs east-west across the top of Seoul. Try getting from Nowon to where line 3/6 terminate in the north west. I used to work with a woman that had to make that commute every day. Ugg. |
