Here's what I know.

There is a form for change of visa status at the Seoul immigration (and penal) office.

I have an E-2 which expires the end of December.

Procured a camp job for January.

Need C-4 visa.

Anyone know if this can be changed with out a wintry trip to Japan?

Anyone know where I can find out without going to the ImOffice?

I checked the (ImOff) website but it was of little assistance for this issue.

Appreciate it,

B.O

Ask Immigration.

Got mine changed from E-2 to F-1 with a "Change of Status of Sojourn" stamp... 20,000 I think... mind you, the expiration date didn't change and I had to pay for the E-2 attached to it later (under the old F-2 rules).

Hi, I'm new to the board and I have a question about my visa.

I have just received a visa for a one-year teaching position (E-2), and it says the length of sojourn is one year, but the expiration date is three months after the issue date. Does this date get extended when I register at the immigration office and get my alien registartion card? Or is it a mistake?

Cheers,
Mark

Sorry if you disagree, but I consider a post about whether or not I have to change the status of my visa to be more than appropriate in a thread titled "Change Visa Status". Though I am new to this board, I am not new to posting messages in forums, and judging by your post, wanderer, I don't feel very welcome here at all.

darkpoet,

Thanks for the reply.
I suppose this -making an irritating trip to the ol' ImOff - would be the only way I could confirm for sure whether or not I could alter the status of my soju, i mean sojourn from an E-2 to C-4 (kaboom). We shall see and we shall post.

Picotrain - Yeah you got 3 months to enter the country, then 1 year after your entry date. I think this question seems basic compared to a lot of the more complicated issues involved with Immigration authorities...
