Tell me if they are reputable. They call it Winter Camp and it pays $3000 if I buy my own ticket. I can purchase a round trip ticket from SF to Inchon for $922 so that leaves $2k in my pocket for a one-month contract (Dec.28 - Jan27)

They have different locations - Seoul, Inchon and one other city down South - I forget which.

Please let me know what y'all think and if you know this institution.

Thanks,

T Very Happy

Yea, I'm working there. I went to the office and I think you talked to Jinny. The place looks good but portable/(fly by night) and it seems like they have been doing this for awhile. I wouldn't sweat it.

I'm curious about this camp thing. How does it work? Just fly in there on a tourist visa, do your 30 days, get money in your pocket and go home?

STAY AWAY from these "camps" unless you have a visa to work there. Immigration is known to crack down on these and if you are not legit you could wind up in a Korean jail cell and having to pay a huge fine.

Thanks!

I don't think I talked to Jinny, though.

As far as fly by night, I am fly-by-night myself, at this point. I just want to complete a contract and have a look around to see if this is something I want to do long-term. A one month assignment seems like I can accomplish that. I mean, if it's horrible then it will be over soon and if it's good, then great.

Can you tell me about their curriculum? what will be expected of me once I get there? Is there anyting I should do in terms of lesson plans? How are the the kids?

Anything you can tell me would be great.

Thanks.

the 2nd real reason you don't want to work w/o a visa is that employers routinely stiff teachers knowing that the teacher is without legal protections.

Its not the policy of the labor board to enforce immigration law but the potential for go between somehow someway exists and I don't like to think about it.

I hear you loud and clear. There is a C4 visa that I will get before I leave.

By the way. What is a C4 Visa, in comparison to other visas?
