I've got laryngitis. Missed 3 days of work last week. Still sick, and it's morphed into something worse- maybe bronchitis. Still haven't gone to a doctor. I always get sick in november- wtf? |

None of the above, just odd cramps in my muscles and a troublesome problem of falling asleep everytime I sit a in a moving vehicle- out cold in under 5, regardless of whether I'm acutally tired. |

I've had two minor colds and two quick cases of the squirts in my 5 years in Korea. Think healthy, be healthy. It's all in the mind. |

Me too, Eamo
Eat healthily and you won't be sick. This is coming from someone who poisons himself with Soju and cigs, hates the cold and I'm rarely ill.
Eat Kimchie and "gwen chahn a yo". |

Amazingly, I haven't been sick since last March. Here's hoping I can make it through the winter unscathed. If I do get ill, though, I'll take a head cold over the gastroenteritis I suffered from last January. Not good times.

I don't like the thesis that 'having a cold' is to do with cold weather.
A cold is a contagious virus that one can catch any time of the year. |

I'm just getting over tonsillitis too. I've been sick for three weeks. I went to the doctor and he gave me a shot that made me feel stoned for a few hours and a whole lote of placebos. I feel like crap. |

it's just easier to catch a cold in the winter because your body is busy trying to warm you up and can't do all the anti-viral things it usually does |

For some reason my allergies were the best ever in the spring--usually my worst time--and then terrible ever since. I've had one attack after the other.

Fine thanks.
But the comment above from someone who got a shot at the doctor's office & felt stoned made me chuckle. Yesterday in an adult class one of my students said she'd just gone in for a shot & I asked if she felt better.
"Yes, but I feel ..." she struggled for a word ... "insane." |

"pink eye" is the laymans term for occular conjuntivitis. OC is a highly virulent bactierial infection that is easily spread by people to people contact- usually in the case of rubbing one's eyes and touching someone's hand, who then rubs their own eyes. It is highly contagious among children and other people who do not wash their hands. The primary symptoms are watering , itchy, red eyes (sometimes with discharge). The cure is a simple ointment.
