Just a warning on behalf of the last two teachers that worked at this school, the school fired both teachers working there because they were both sick with the flu.
The had the thursday of work, one teacher called in sick the other went in for one class and decided to go home because she was too sick to continue the work day.
The next day when the went into work the director told them they are fired and they have to come with him to immigration to hand in thier ARC cards, they refused so the police were called and came straight away.
While the two girls working there went to sort this out with the Labor office the locks were changed, the school refused to give their stuff back it was only when one teacher said she needed heart medication were the allowed in to get their stuff.
they were fired and evicted in the same day, refused tickets or money owed as well as 30 days notice, the police were called also.
The labor office was contacted and both teachers were told that they can do nothing so to get home they had to pay for it out of their own pocket.

Anyone considering this school (which is advertising now) please be very careful with this school. PM me for more info on this.

That's madness, but then I am not surprised.

I see on the advert for the job that they were only allowed 3 sick days per year. Maybe they exceeded these? Seems real harsh though. But there are 2 sides to every story so I wonder what their story is.

People are only civilized when we all agree to the same rules. I said many times on the board that these things can happen. They called the police to the school because it is against the law to disturb the business (so shouting and yelling at the school can get you charged). Many times people have said I was wrong but once again I was right. The boss can get away with some serious violations....Changing the locks on HIS housing is legal even though you live there, that is why I always have my own deadbolt installed in any house.
The boss sounds smart and evil and i bet he already had the replacements on the plane when he kicked them out and fired them (i mean part-time workers). Try to watch for it and then report the school to immigration.

They never exceeded the sick days, they were fired for standing up for their rights on the school violating their contracts, the sick days were a catalyst to fire them.
We tried the labor office, let me tell you this, if the school decides not to adhere to anything the labor office advises then you get nothing, the girls at this school were owed wages as well as 30 days notice, the plane tickets were useless to the school as there was only a return leg left to use, but they were refused even under negotiation to forgo the wages and 30 days notice\pay, because they just wanted to go home.
The labor office said unless you hire a lawyer there is nothing we can do, I asked about the wages worked, they said they can try but if the school refuses then you need to go to court etc....meanwhile they had no place to live or much money.
Sooooooooooo it was a great experience for my friends, who did their jobs but didn't take kindly to being screwed over by a hagwan director.
