My passport expires in July 2006, about 3 months before my contaract/visa is up. Has anyone tried to sort this out over here?
I do hope its possible |

Sure it is possible.
I've done it twice. Once my passport expired and once after I got married and changed my maiden name.
Go here, download the form.

You need 2 pictures and you need someone from a COMMONWEALTH country to sign the back of the pictures to prove that it's you. The person can be a Brit, an Aussie, a Canuck or whatever.
If you are in Seoul, go to the Embassy with your form, photos and old passport and money - about 100,000 won and they should let you have it back in a week.
If you are not in Seoul, then just send all of the above to the Consular Section. You can go to your local post office and they will make a cheque out for you.
