|
|
At my job, I have to listen to recorded English oral exams. So far I've evaluated over 1000 guys this year, and they all have to give a self-introduction, and they are required to talk about their family. So far, about 99.9% of the married guys have kids. Of course they don't mention that they've been treated for infertility, and just last week we had the first mention of anyone having adopted kids. Infertility treatments and adoption fees are high. I wonder what poor Koreans do if they are unable to have children... Anybody else curious about this?
Btw, I heard surrogacy is illegal here. |

Surrogacy illegal?
And here I always thought that explained why some Korean boys look so much unlike their fathers. Oh, wait, you are talking about surrogacy where the mother AND father know about it! Different situation entirely. |

Despite law, trade in eggs and sperm is continuing
A woman, identifying herself as a 24-year-old, posted, "I'm 167 centimeters [5.5 feet] tall and slender in physique. I attend a prestigious university in Seoul, majoring in English literature. My IQ is 146." She added, "I provided an egg cell two years ago and it was very successful."
Mr. Bahk also noted the amount of advertising online for surrogate mothers or for egg donations for in vitro fertilization, for which compensation is not banned by law.
