How many contracts have you broken and how difficult was it for you to find new work?
Did you leave on good or bad terms?
Tell your story. |

I've broken the letter of the contract on several occasions, but never left my job or was fired. . .how does that figure? I've had the chance to renew at 4/5 jobs.
ex:
-instructor shall not engage in any activities outside of X workplace or accept payment from any person(s) than X
(I do privates)
-instructor shall behave in a manner suitable to his/her position and that does not bring shame on our fine school blah blah blah
(when I get drunk I like to run down the street naked. well, ok I don't, but I am a mouthy bastard)
-instructor shall keep all records and required class times etc etc et al. . .
(I've let classes out 5 minutes early before and fudged attendance records)
but damn, I do look good |

I've broken 2.
One runner, but not in Korea. Still to this day feel bad about having done it, but it was one of those situations where people who quit and gave notice honestly were always left at the end with no paycheck, regardless of how many years they had worked there -- and I couldn't risk that.
One in Korea, but it was done honestly, broken after 8.5 months, for personal reasons (ie/ not to do with the work situation). |

Left early (6 weeks) due to illness requiring minor surgery. Was offered the chance to re-contract but it was a crappy job so I just moved on. |

haven't yet but it was touch and go a few times last year, and that would have been a runner, judging from the people who were fired let alone quit. |
