Does anybody have their winter schedule yet--the one you receive over winter break? My school hasn't said anything about it yet, in fact I don't even know if there is one. Are we supposed to go to some camp or something?

I work for a public middle school. Although I filled out the EPIK paperwork, I was actually hired through a recruiter so my info may be irrelevant to you. I have regular classes right up to the end of December, do a one-week winter camp the first week of January, and then I'm technically finished my teaching obligations and on vacation after I finish the other two weeks at the other three-week camp I'm doing. The ninth graders already did their finals, but there will still be tests for the seventh and eight graders, so I'll still get a couple of days, or half-days, off. I'll miss this place...

I too teach right up until the end of December at the high school that I'm at, and probably by THAT time will be told the winter class schedule. Last year it was a joke, as I had 2 classes ONCE a week which basically screwed me from going anywhere or working at any other camp.

I have a camp the first week of January. After that I'm free until the 15th-ish of February where I go back for one week and then I think I'm finished.

No camps but I have to come in for two hours a day to teach the top 20 students from first and second grade.

As I said before, my situation is a little different. I'm doing a one-week winter camp the first week of January and that's it. No forced hanging about the school or anything like that. I'll be getting my regular salary for ten 45-minute classes(2/day) for the month of January. No, I'm not getting paid any extra for the camp...I would hope not as I'm actually req'd to be there for less than 1/8 the time of the regular months. The other three-week camp is being held elsewhere and I'll be getting paid extra for that from the other school. All legal, of course.
