Am planning on going in July now. Anyone got some beaches to recommend? Are the beaches nice in July? Anyone ever been there?

But I feel the best thing is to see if anyone here has some first-hand experience about this place, you can share with me. You can only gain so much info looking at weather charts & stuff.

[post edited cause i wanna go in july now, for a much longer time period Smile ]

Best beach is Phu Quoc, an island an hour south of HCMC by plane - return flights with Vietnam Airways only $60.
Best beaches on the mainland are Nha Trang and Mui Ne. Nha Trang - mm something like this:

The weather is at its coolest in December but the tempratures will still be something like lows of 20-22 and highs of 30-35. Although maybe Nha Trang will be slightly cooler. Its a place with more backpackers - the sort of 'phuket' of vietnam. There is something resembling nightlife there. Mui Ne is much quieter and the beach is just as nice really. Mui Ne is closer to HCMC, only about 3 hours by bus. You can get the overnight train to Nha Trang from HCMC, about 10 hours. If your on your own, I would suggest Nha Trang because in Phu Quoc and Mui Ne its very quiet.
