for the past 2 days I have not been able to purchase from the Music Store, or even download the free music. Has anyone else had this problem?? It says credit card purchasing temporarily not available. It even says that when downloading the free stuff?

were you able to purchase music off music store before? i was told that it isn't available to residents in korea. if your credit card bill address is in korea, that could prohibit you from being able to make purchases.
however, you should be able to download the free stuff - i download the free npr podcasts everyday. |

When I told one of the other teachers that I use iTunes and sometimes the iTunes music store, he said it wasn't available here either. It works just fine though. I think he interprets 'not available' as no a korean version. This is my comp from the U.S. though. I haven't bought any music since I arrived, mostly because the money comes from a US account with very little cash in it until I transfer money from my first paycheck, but I have downloaed some podcasts. I downloaded on...Friday night and it worked.

As long as you have a credit card that is issued from a country that has an iTunes store, you can purchase music from that store, no matter where in the world you may be. For example. I have a UK issued credit card, and as such I use the UK iTunes store to purchase music, even though I'm over here in Korea. I can't however buy anything from the US store, as I don't have a US issued credit card. Korean issued cards won't work in any of the iTunes stores, as there isn't a Korean one, yet...

i was able to purchase this morning and then it went off again. Itunes is adding several new features and is under some maintenance. By the way, I use Paypal. Also, as the earlier poster stated, a credit card from other countries will work.

I like Paypal - you should be able to sign up as it is available in korea. I use it for all, sorts of things. I pay my Itunes with it and Ebay. You do need a bank account/credit card. it only takes a few minutes to get on to it. It had a lot of problems in its earlier days, but it seems to have resolved those problems now.
