Not sure which forum to put this...
This quote

I think if we get enough Canadians and Americans on board a petition drive to force the Canadian and American governments to crack down on illegal Koreans overstaying in those countries, I think Korea would become quiet about the whole thing now. |
Regarding this thread on confirmation of degree:

Reminded me of this:

For those unable to comprehend the article, the gist of it is...
Some type of immigration association is pushing for illegal international students in America to <legally> get their greencards. Not all, but those who fall under specific circumstances...for example, if a student arrived (legally or not) before the age of 16 and lived in America for more than 5 years and has passed high school (including GED) they are eligible to get a greencard.
This proposal is being looked over by the US gov't right now (to the best of my knowledge).
You think this won't fly? It's absurd? Don't count on it...after all, we have enough schmucks in the government who are willing to give illegal workers greencards...or at minimum forgive them and then offer work permits.
Oh well.

Wow!
Thank you for quoting me.
Anyway, I think it would pass, especially with the money Korea is willing to spend on lobbying and the amount of influential people they have under their wings.
It is sad that the more they do this despite the crackdown and negative statements in the media that has been said about foreigners and how Korea reacts to such complaints.
I think if these lawmakers knew about half the policies now being implimented in Korea in regards to foreigners, I think they would seriously reconsider their decisions to help Korea.
I have another statement to say that was said many times-
"The so-called "vegabonds" or "backpackers" that Koreans judge now might decide or influence the way others view Korea later." |
