I thought they looked so cute, my urge to kill them all died down for a little bit.

i sent a letter to paul martin asking him if he wanted to come out for some brewskys.
Unfortunately his office just said (direct quote):
Quote:

The Prime Minister appreciates your interest and has asked me to thank
you. Unfortunately, I must inform you that Mr. Martin's schedule is
such
that he will not be able to meet with you. I regret that I am unable to
provide you with a more favourable response.
aka: "That is some @^%in ghetto bullsh1te. @#% you you @#$in' @#%#s"

he looks like he's the special boy at day camp, that's for sure....

And who the ^&$# points with "two" fingers to show vlad anything?
that's guts

Kudos for trying. On the Rick Mercer Report two weeks ago, Rick Mercer managed to get him to come out to a Canadian Tire.

Man, Bush sure loves to wear blue. Went to China and wore the blue kit, went to Korea and wore the blue kit, loves his blue ties. Reminds me of Ed Norton's boss in Fight Club "Can I get that icon in cornflower blue?"

Gloria is short, dude; then again, she is Filipina.

Aside from teh ridiculousness of having the leaders play dress-up, those are the ugliest hanboks I've ever seen!!

I thought one of the "things" about hanboks was their colour -- always in bright beautiful colours? (Actually, I've also never seen men wear that style, I thought that was reserved for women?)

And, funny how Junichiro and Hu Jin Tao are the only ones to get dull, drab, grey ones.....

That is precisely what I thought too - those are totally not representative of how beautiful the hanbok can be.

Oh... and the Thai PM also wore grey.

I wonder why there were no protests due to CNN identifying the hanboks as kimonos!

It's not actually hanbok as such but η縶, cos unlike hanbok that can just be slipped over one's normal clothes. Hence the unusual colours. They look better than hanbok to me actually.

A lot of the Korean comments underneath seem to be saying how 'cute' ( Exclamation )they look and how it's ironic how well the clothes suit Bush and Koizumi.

I guess most of us here think the whole thing is just ridiculous. I've seen pics of them doing a photo-op in some South American get-up too. Wonder if they have to go through this in every ASEAN country?

From what I understand, it's something of a ritual at summits to have a photo-op on the last day dreessed in traditional costume.

What did world leaders wear on the last day of the big to-do in Seattle a couple of years ago, when the anti-globalization protests got so hot that tear flowed in the streets like it was Chicago in '68?

What is American traditional clothing, I wonder ... torn sweaty T-shirt with beer gut hanging out the bottom of it, a pack of Marlboros rolled up in the sleeve, with sweatpants slipping down and showing the buttcrack - hey, I just noticed : that's what I'mwearing NOW!

God, I love my country.

(Really, I do. Seriously.)
