Ok, I hate wrestling. In fact, I'm about as passionate in my hate for wrestling as wrestling fans are fond of it. My elementary male students love it, and are constantly using a line a wrestler uses. The line in question is "You can't see me," which they say while waving their hand infront of their face.

Anyone know what it means or why they do it with the hand waving gesture???

Doesn't really mean much. It's just something one of the wrestling guys does.

The wrestler is John Cina or somethign like that. His big gimmick is waving his hand in front of his face and saying "you can't see me".

But if you bust this out in the middle of class you're sure to hear a lot of wows and then the boys will like you Wink

[edit]

Yeah, I didn't really answer your question. Sorry about that. I was just surprised that I knew what you were talking about Laughing

It's done by John Cena and it mean's I'm outta your league or so far above you that you can't see me. Kinda like you can't touch this. I've also heard that it means he is so fast that you can't see him based on a character from Dragonball Z

And he brushes off his shoulder later for all the hata's.

My first grade boys love wrestling. I always have wrestling references in my class.

Pro wresteling is an abomination on every possible level and should be outlawed. The only people who actually seem to get some kind of amusment of that worthless form of "entertainment" fit into the following three categories: A) Korean schoolboys B) redneck trailor trash or C) people who rode the little bus to school everyday when they were growing up.

Addendum: The kids will have no clue whatsoever what the phrase means. They just think it sounds cool.

With an attitude like that, it's no wonder you can't get women to sleep with you.

And it's "trailer", hick.

I miss my trailer. I would sit there watching the rasslin' show, occasionally rolling my eyes and saying "Duh" to every moron who'd come by to tell me it was fake.

Then I'd sic my hound I named "Macho Man" on them.

Hey Troll! Learn to spell "Wrestling" and "Trailor trash" before you start labeling others as rednecks or simpletons.

YO, what's up with the dissin' of *THE NEW WWE CHAMPION* John Cena, this man has no respect for anyone with his fast mouth and faster moves, all you need to counter the 'you can't see me move' is to ask them 'so you in the chain gang?' or remind them 'umm the champ is here *gesturing to self*' and if that fails just give them a stare like they're ridiculous and say 'what'.
WORD... LIFE

*note the above is the basis of serious research into the abomination of Pro wrestling for ummm..... studies and um stuff......... wouldn't watch it at all out of choice............

In truth, once our lord and saviour Chris Benoit won the title at Wrestlemania 20, I lost interest. It was like seeing the end of the movie and I wanted to go home.

My middle school boys love it...I have 4 brothers....been practice fodder for the "figure 4 and sleeper hold".

I speak fluent WWE. Use it in my classes. They love it. They soak up any class with WWE references. In fact I have a picture of The Undertaker in my classroom ...."suggesting" that sleeping is bad in class.

Get over yourself and oh yeah learn to spell.

And as a woman .....Let me see buff hot sweaty guys in spandex.....where is the downside?

Can't read Proust and Sarte 24/7.

I'm known as Jake around these parts because whenever i see someone asleep at their desk i pull out my snake and throw it on top of them.

The expression on their faces is classic - startled and scared followed by a big "you got me" smile and thumbs up.

When people see Squat Jr. wiggling and writhing on some poor chumps forehead when he/she is sound asleep, its like a ray of sunshine piercing through a black rain cloud.
