where/who do you want to be in 5, 10, 20 years?
will coming back to korea help you get to that point?
Failing that do you just want to come back have fun for a while, save some cash before returning to mundania?
the second whilst not necessarily advancing your career prospects could be equally valid in terms of personal happiness and making some lifelong memories..
Having said that, we all know a change of location alone won't make you happy.
good luck with your decision |

Depending on what country you are from, you can save for your retirement here with the pension system. Just be sure you qualify, and you are on the system. My co-worker's country (US) can even automatically roll the Korean pension into his social security.
If you come here, you should make it a point to try to save at least half of what you make, and keep it tucked away for the future. Just my thoughts. |

Hell, I should hope 32 is not too old to do anything!!! I am planning on a second child at around 32!
BTW... I am not quite understanding the answers you have for your question...
Shouldn't the *yes* really be "no"; and *no*, "yes"?

No prizes for guessing Itaewonguy's age.
The OP appears to have answered his/her own question with his/her own question. Sounds like you wanna come to Korea. Make it happen. |

i have to say, i think it's hilarious that as of "now" (i've captured it, between quotation marks), we're at 100% that you should go to korea. I'm actually the exact same age and debating the same thing myself...albeit not at a university...i was actually sitting there debating which one i should hit as it would reflect my own situation. Isn't that just the most absolutely craziest wackiest gosh-diddly-kookiest thing ya ever heard?
T.
p.s. I voted Yes, by the way. 32 is but a notch on the belt. |

I hope not.
I'm old enough to be the father of a 32-year-old. |

If you feel you're too old then you probably are.

Theoretically speaking and generalizing pessimism aside perhaps you can gain and maintain a Uni teaching job by sheer experience and degrees where as you be softly brow beaten on the breast of accomplishments by a thin comely 22 year old blond haired blue eyed lass in a HoggyWon job search.
Ahhh but I am thinking of doing a Masters and then a south Country Area maybe Tawain... or Hong Kong Even very far south Korea here it is too cold I'd go to the Persian Gulf Agian but I did not Teach anyone a lesson in English but in ahhhh well mmmm sadness- besides Them there Airrabb peepoles probbobbbly woud wanna cut ma redneck off. And I aint got no guy with a fifty cal dropping anybody who pops out of a winda now. But I think that Koreaa is way safe- lessen u eat too much of that ole black sauce beef stuff and then you be gettin diarrhea in Kerrreea. |

| Toad, do you teach your hoggy kids to write like that? Half the time, I can't understand what the hell you're saying! But you do have a sense of humor; I'll give you that much. I agree, the ol' jajamyun (black sauce rice stuff) can be tough on the gut, but I still get the craving for that with some of the tang soo yak to balance it out. The cool thing about Korea is you order that stuff on the phone; it arrives 6 minutes later via moped and then you throw your dishes out in the hall when you're finished (before promptly heading to the wc). Screw the middle east, man. Yes, very fun to travel a few years ago. I have no idea why any one would want to work there now. Yes, you can make some bucks, but your life will be crap ... particulary in Saudi where you make the most. I would recommend getting your masters ... I had a far better experience at the uni than I did in hoggy-hell. |

| Hoggy-hell that's a good one. Um yeah I guess I should get a Masters, then go on to University teach. 32 is good cause if you meet a cute English 4th year uni student you like you won't be ten years older than her. Besides I think there is something cathartic in eating all that Black Beef Sauce stuff, sort of like eating a burnt cow pulverized and mixed with salt and tar. You have to pay me at least 75k to work in Suadi - them peepoles gonna all rebeller gainst there riteful goberment and make one of them crazy islamer states like Iran where they cut off hands. Aint no way ma big ole belly goona be whopped on by some angry radical rebeller declarin his new revolutian. |
