I love the one with the two people cartwheeling down the street. Contrary to its purpose I have no idea what the advert is for though.
Also the one with the couple singing about their kimchi fridge. It's like a kim chi musical.
The babe on the Rush & Cash ad makes me want it. Whatever the sheet Rush & Cash is. I saw her in Hongdae Red Mango once and she's anorexically thin, as opposed to the other dangerously-underweight starlets.
Worst ad? Easy. Anyone with that *beep* Daniel Henning in. |

I like the one where the guy and girl are dancing with the pearls all over the floor. I like the music and the guy's kind of hot.
The commercial with the two women fighting with opera music. And the parody with the two guys. Hee hee...
The kimchi muscial makes me laugh because the guy singing never moves his lips. |

he is the only korean person I know by full name.
Daniel Henning is a VERY VERY VERY attractive half korean/half american (I think...maybe british??) who does all the ads in Korea basically. He is in the BeanPole, Gentra (are you gentle), and some other telephone ads (sky?). The man is objectivtely handsome, this coming from someone who does NOT have yellow fever.
It is also rumored by MANY people that he is a gay.
I pretty much hate all the commercials and find them contrived...what i DO like is the home shopping...Smacking away on 75,000 crab all dressed in white, hanging out with the whole family...sittin on the floor...maxin and relaxin...chewing with their mouths open...the food 'money shot'...the two prerequisite ajummas hawking sh*t...mandatory circle lens for all participants.
It's truly a lesson in culture.
Edit: Oh and I forgot the...."aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh....oooooooooooooooooh" ding ding ding. |

Is that like Korea, or what? Start a rumor that he is gay. Oh my gosh, he is a half-breed. Our women like him. Soon they will be dating waygooks to make half-breed babies.
Soultion: Start a rumor that he is gay!
Obviously, the commercial shows him asking if you are gentle, which sounds very gay in itself.
By the way, is his name Henny or Henning? |
