12:30am on Sunday ~

I just went out to walk the dog, and to see why there were so many voices outside (kinda scold the kids for hanging outside the windows again)(as we are at basement/ground level, and dislike 'audiences' of that sort).

And it's snowing. Pretty well - around 2-3 inches of beautiful powder covering everything of my little corner of Ui-wang; I imagine An-yang/Pyoung-chon /Goon-po is the same . . . Saturday night with thick clouds in a suburb of Seoul mean all the normal 'light pollution' is reflecting everything exquisitely, much like a full-moon night would.

As a 'boarder, this is joyful. Very Happy

Stay frosty . . .

G.

(C. is NOT as pleased as I am!)

I thought I was in Canada when I went for a walk outside tonight. I didn't like it and promptly went back inside to sob.

The thought of going back to six feet of snow and -30 C weather next week makes me cringe.

By golly it was pretty. Even for somebody who despises the cold as much as myself. People were having snowball fights in Gangnam, and when I got back to the Beomgye area there was at least an inch of snow.

The temp in Hsinchu City, Taiwan, right now (1:04am, Korea time) is a balmy 20 or so. Gee, it would be great to have a snow storm, though.

Enjoy the charms of a Korean winter! For instance, in the city of Seoul, you could go to the Hyatt Hotel, Namsan, Yoido Island or even Lotte World for a skate or some shinny, perhaps. Also, the ride up Namsan is really nice in that the top is freezing freaking cold like Kinross or Uigg, P.E.I. (the rest of P.E.I., by the way, is as warm year round as the Bahamas).

Yep, the R.O.K. is a Winter Paridise. Enjoy it while it lasts!

I can't fookin' stand the stuff personally. It makes your feet feel like blocks of ice, you can't walk normally in it, people throw it at you, you fall on your arse randomly, it disrupts public transport. But it looks pretty and that's all that matters, right?

We got about 2 inches down here in Cheongju. Kind of special for us as I am Australian and my wife is Indonesian and its her first time ever seeing snow. Guess we are like a couple of big kids.

Yar my friend texted me at midnight last night and said, "It will snow today." I wrote her back saying, "Today is over. You mean tomorrow?" and she said, "LOOK OUT THE WINDOW MORON." I added the moron.

So pretty! Okay, it was pretty. Now, it's 1 p.m. the next day and everything is muddy bingsu and crispy ice.

Anybody in Gwangju care to report about the snow down there. Looks like you got a lot of the white stuff.

Gwangju nothing... even in Mokpo we got almost 2 inches of this stuff!! it sure is funny to watch these people drive in it, being from Edmonton and used to it. Although it IS a bit different kind of snow, as it's not even below zero.
