1) Go to Victoria Peak...especially at night. Its really beautiful.

2) Take the ferry to Kowloon Island for some AWESOME piz of HK island.

@ Kowloon there is also this 'ladies street' which is the shiznit for good shopping.

3) EAT! Especially around "Central"

4) IF you have time, take the ferry to Lantau island. Not because of the huge golden buddah there....booooring....but because there is a very nice little beach there, where you can spend a whole day just lazin. Its only like 30 minutes away.

Also visit Lamma island, really picturesque and laid-back. And take a day-trip to Macau, well worth a visit.

If you like art check out the Art Museum. They usually have great exhibits.
Walk 'til you drop. The last time I was there I got hold of this brochure that outlined 3 or 4 self walking tours, and it was great. It was an all day walk...........flower market, bird cage park (sorry wrong name...but it is the park where the old men bring their birds in cages), Shanghai St (oldest street in HK), goldfish street (cool), jade market, and finally the ladies market for shopping (if I remember correctly). I am sure you can get the brochure at the airport.

Have fun!

I anticipate that to be a bit chilly in January for beaching. It certainly wasn't warm when I was in HK and Macau late February last year. Was that just a cold snap?
