And a good question. Ummmmmmm ... well, i haven't attempted that one for some time. A VERY moving & beautiful song mind you. Thanks for reminding me. Maybe i'll go home & practise it when i leave the PC BONG.
Anyways, the reason i bumped this thread is that i recently started surfing for MIDIS!!! 
Funny? I think so. However, they offer a reasonable way to re-familiarize oneself with an old melody & don't take up much space on the comp.
Just for fun really  |

Thanks a lot for that ..... in the bass section they have two short features of Jaco Pastorius and James Jamerson, probably my favourite players.
Interesting though that the version selected for the "Heard it through the Grapevine" was the Marvin Gaye one, not the more bluesy original by Gladys Knight (with a far more demanding bass line).
I'm rambling.

BTW; he also found "hitmaker"(this is software produced by a spanish company used by record companies as well as Moby to guage hitsong potential or listener demographics) on this site.

Wow, that's a big saving!?!
In my opinion the best way to learn an instrument is to get a great teacher. I don't understand the whole tab learning thing, it's a bit lazy isn't it.
Learn to read proper music notation and you have access to virtually all the music in the world literally at your fingertips. Learn to read sheet music and you can pick up loads of stuff. There are some pretty good music stores in korea where you can get loads of different sheet music for many different genres.
You can learn so much from reading and listening to others music. Even if you're a guitar player learn some jazz horn tunes, some classical violin tunes, if yuo want to learn to shred like an EVH type pick up some chalenging Pagannini.
Learn to read proper music notation and it opens all sorts of doors. If you can't read music or don't understand any theory then get a good book and get your head down. It's certainly a lot easier than learning Korean.
Perhaps all the musicians here should set up an FTP site somewhere where we can keep a load of stuff. It would be nice to get a little music thing going on in Korea such as a server with music on and other handy stuff.
I'm getting back to Korea soon. Anyone up for a jam? |

umm, i can't find anything about "hitmaker" on google, what is it again? i have never heard of it. |

Keithinkorea, I agree with you totally. I once lost my copy of Mozart's Rondo alla turca K331 transcribed by William Kanengiser, for classical guitar. The "tab"(only one on the entire net) I did find was nowhere near the acccuracy(transcription from piano) to the copy I once had. Really annoying to read thus I refuse to relearn(remember) that piece in any other medium than standard music notation.
On the other hand, tab transcriptions for speed meisters like Joe Satriai were spot on accurate thus saving me loot(via indirectly stealing from the artist).
They can be useful. |
