2- August heat.

3- Rainy season

Do Koreans whine? Do westerners whine more than Koreans? Do westerners whine louder than Koreans? Is it bad and unacceptable for westerners to whine? Is it good and acceptable for Koreans to whine?

RR...please participate in the thread instead of just posting crap. Very Happy

But..to be clear:

Do Koreans whine? -> Not relevant to my list is it?

Do westerners whine more than Koreans? -> See above with the added comment that I was not comparing anything.

Do westerners whine louder than Koreans? -> See above with the added comment you are repeating your self now.

Is it bad and unacceptable for westerners to whine? -> See above with the added comment that this was not the topic of the thread and is a completely silly question.

Is it good and acceptable for Koreans to whine? -> See above again and this is getting redundant.

Thank you.

Have a nice evening.

Difficulty in finding foriegn foods(although it is getting much better)

The isolation(few foreigners outside of major population centers)

The frustration of dealing with Koreans academically(they just dont want to consider student based learning and the fact that reading and writing is necessary to learning a language)

Being gawked at like a circus freak by a bunch of slack jawed yokels.(usually reserved for rural areas)

The horrible horrible Jean Claude Van-damn movies they play incessantly on TV Shocked

1 to 5. Environmental destruction and pollution.

I've long come to accept the fact I am powerless to change what annoys me most about Korea and Koreans. I try to concentrate on more positive thoughts. For example, it's a very liberating feeling to come to expect, and accept, that you will be within an inch of death everytime you get on the road because someone else acts like a moron behind the wheel... but I'll never be able accept the fact that environmental destruction is being excused under the guise development. Last time I checked, Korean wasn't a developping country.

Actually, it is, though it's expected to break through to "developed" status within the next decade.

I'll agree that it doesn't excuse the lack of concern for the environment though.

1.The idea that foreigners must accept things like lying, cheating, non-payment and other problems as part of "korean culture".

2. Those overbearing, garlic-breathed, adjosshis who insist on making conversation with you on the subway.....even though all they can say is.."where you from?" How old? Why you here? etc.

3. Korean bosses who insist on intruding into your private life as if it were their God-given right.

4. Foreign teachers who can find nothing better to do with their time but get drunk.

5. Foreign teachers "just off the boat" who think they are going to single-handedly fix all the problems in Korea and they start by trying to tell people that have been here for years how to teach. Rolling Eyes
