A friend is coming over for her first visit to Korea and she wants to see more of Korea than just Seoul. Does anyone have any cool ideas of where to go for a few days that will show off Korean culture? |

Suwon has a really nice fortress. Obviously, you would have to check out Kyeongju's bulkoksa temple & such. There's some traditional folk villages around the country too, forget where exactly... oh, and maybe do the DMZ. |

Gongju and Buyeo are good times...I've been to both. Very peaceful, friendly people, clean and enough sites to keep you entertained for a couple days. Lonely Planet has some info.
Sokcho is cool too if you're into the mountain/ocean scene. |

I'd take the KTX down towards Gyeongju for a day or two and then swing though Andong on the way back |

I'm the third poster to think of Gyeongju (Kyungju).
