OK I've been here for 10 months now and this is really bothering me.. What the heck does KT&G do/sell? Their commercials are so obscure you can't make out heads or tails from them. I don't know enough Korean to know what they are saying. I asked my Korean friends and co-workers what KT&G was and they had no clue either.

That's what it is. Well being is such crap here. They have it on a ton of unhealthy stuff - cookies or ice cream that are green tea flavoured. I've even seen it on alcohol. Koreans are so gulliable they'll believe anything. "We're not afraid of the bird flu because we eat kimchee. Rolling Eyes

That's the old name of the company- the new one is a great example of English gibberish in business: Korea Tomorrow and Global.

Phillip Morris was/is considering a lawsuit again KT&G for a reason or two. Korean law doesn't allow tobacco ads on TV but KT&G need some kind of financial clout with the networks in case the lawsuit ever comes about so that the networks will jump to their side. So, it's a way to give the networks money without breaking the law (although if they were a tad brighter they could advertise their ginseng even though it doesn't add up to a whole hill of beans next to tobacco).
