Hi,
I've just finished a year's contract at DDD here in Hongseong. My boss is recruiting now to replace me. If you are offered a contract here and would like a heads up, feel free to PM me. I'll let you know about the ups and downs.......

Maybe because the OP's boss checks the board and would be p***ed and start taking it out on the foreign staff.
Now, I may be wrong, but I have a feeling that it's not a nice place to work.

He's already posted the school's name and location and given away details of his identity. If his boss reads this forum (which I doubt) he already knows his ex teacher is slandering his name to all who PM him. Spill the beans, what's the difference?

The vast majority of chains like this are crap run by morons, so take your chances if you wish.

actually, the OP says he'd share the ups and downs, so we can assume some good things will be said as well.

Hongseong? Do you mean Heongsong? Near Camp Eagle?

Hello, !

No, the OP means Hongseong.
In hangul, that's ȫ, and it is in the province of 泲.
I know, because I lived in Hongseong and I met him there.

Hello, !

I can tell you about the city. Since I came to Korea, it is the smallest town I have lived in. It is the only town where I saw someone I knew every time I went to town. The children must have told their friends about me, because I frequently had children I didn't even know teasing me by calling me 丶.

Shortly after I moved away, I had a crying spell before class. I thought I made my grief invisible by washing my face, but one of the students said, "Teacher. Sad." When I asked her how she knew, she said that my eyes were red.

I can also tell you a little bit about the school. It has a flat roof, and it makes efficient use of the space by having a playground up there. (In Kumi, I lived in an apartment house with a flat roof. The children had to play in the parking lot. I wondered why the landlord didn't fence in the roof and put a playground up there.)

The director seems to be a smart businessperson. On the first day of the school year, the teachers at my school stood outside the elementary school and passed out advertising brochures to the parents. When I walked home, I saw that Ding Ding Dang had party decorations out front and had kids running around with bilingual nametags. I was mortified.

The Ding Ding Dang chain is alleged to have a set curriculum all laid out. That's convenient if you like that sort of thing, but I prefer to employ my own wild and crazy ideas.

If you are offered a job at the school two blocks away, don't sign anything without first writing to me.

Hello, !

The OP was one of three local foreign teachers who spent their free time learning hapgido at a local academy. Those foreign teachers did a very impressive demonstration of their hapgido skill at the Children's Day festival. Moreover, they seemed to be quite an inspiration to their puerile classmates--even the ones who have earned higher belts.

I think it is safe to say that all three of those foreign teachers would score above average on an IQ test.

I think it's safe to say that the average DDD wongjongnim and Korean supervisor wouldn't.
