Can anyone offer advice for exchanging money in Beijing? Is it best to exchange won to yuan in Korea or us dollars to yuan in china? Any suggestions on Beijing are welcome!

We did both at some point.

I think it's easier to just change money in Korea - KEB seems to have stopped charging any admin fee for exchanging money, so that's a good deal!

We once went to a bank in China to exchange some money from USD to Yuan and a guy came up to us, IN THE BANK!, asking us if we wanted to change money with him!!!! His rate was like a dollar better than the bank rate, so needless to say, we agreed. It was, however, illegal (still is) and we were just so shocked that no one cared!!
